Connection Therapy
At Deerhorn Ranch, therapy looks different. It’s not just sitting in an office talking about what’s wrong. It’s about feeling safe enough in your body to actually change. Surrounded by nature, open space, and the calming presence of horses, we create an environment where your nervous system can slow down… so real healing can begin.
💛 Hi, I’m Michelle Enos, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)
and the founder of Deerhorn Ranch. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years in the corporate world. From the outside, everything looked successful—but internally, I knew something was missing. I built Deerhorn Ranch from the ground up
with a vision: to create a space where people can feel, heal, and reconnect—not just talk about it. I understand what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like something needs to change. And I also know—there is real hope for things to feel different.
What Makes This Different?
When we’re overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down…
👉 talking alone doesn’t always work.
That’s because healing isn’t just cognitive—it’s nervous system-based.
Using a “bottom-up” approach inspired by relational neuroscience (like the work of Dr. Bruce Perry), therapy at the ranch helps regulate your system first—so insight and change can actually stick.
Here’s what that looks like:
-
Nature-based setting that lowers stress and anxiety
-
Movement and experiential work (not just sitting and talking)
-
Horses present in the environment, offering a grounding and regulating presence
-
Real-time awareness of patterns, emotions, and connection
You don’t have to force anything.
Your system starts to shift naturally.
Who This Is For?

🐴 About the Horses:
The horses are part of the environment at Deerhorn Ranch. They are not used for riding or structured interventions during sessions, but their presence alone can have a powerful effect on the nervous system—helping you feel more grounded, calm, and connected.
